Yin Yoga consists of Gentle, reclining poses where you give the body time to open and release tension.
Yin Yoga is a gentle, meditative style of yoga where you stay in postures for longer periods of time, usually lying down or sitting. Unlike more active (yang) forms of yoga, in Yin Yoga you use hardly any muscle power. This helps you relax deeper and release tension in muscles and connective tissue.
We use props such as blocks and blankets to best support the body. Although Yin Yoga is not physically strenuous, it provides a deep stretch that increases your flexibility and mobility. Poses are held for several minutes, allowing you to experience not only physical, but also mental relaxation.
Yin Yoga is ideal as a counterpoint to more active styles of yoga and helps you find more balance in your practice.
