FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Hatha Yoga is basic yoga. In Hatha Yoga, you actively use your muscles and work on strength and balance in addition to flexibility. Hatha yoga is a fairly static form. If you only want to practice yoga with women or you need class with more time to change postures, choose the class Gentle Hatha Yoga (ladies only).

At Yin Yoga you do mostly reclining or seated poses and the emphasis is on stretching and relaxation.

At Flow Yoga we use the postures from Hatha in a flowing frequency. This form is faster the most “sweaty form".

Hatha Yoga at Anna's Yoga Tree is a combination of traditional Indian yoga with insights from Western physical therapy. In Hatha Yoga, you seek relaxation in effort. You work on strength, flexibility, balance and relaxation. A class is a combination of vigorous and relaxing exercises. If you like to take it a little easier or if you only want to exercise with women, you can also choose to join one of our classes Gentle Hatha Yoga .

Yin Yoga is the counterpart to Yang forms of yoga, such as Hatha yoga. In Yin Yoga, you stay in a pose longer. As a result, you feel more stretch and not only do you get more flexible muscles but there is also an effect on connective tissue. As the muscles release, the brain also receives a signal, allowing you to experience deep relaxation.

Sure, anyone can do yoga! At Anna's Yoga Tree, the groups are small. There is lots of personal attention and you can adjust the poses to your body. Gentle Hatha Yoga or Yin Yoga are the most accessible classes to start with, but you are welcome in any class. You can also choose private lessons, which can be as little as 35 euros per 30 minutes. But always check if your medical practitioner thinks it's a good idea as well and let the teacher know what she can take into account.
